Injured in an accident?

Jeffrey S. Snell — Personal Injury and Workers' Compensation Attorney

Jeff Snell has practiced law since 2000 and handled Georgia workers' compensation cases since 2003. When you call Snell Injury Law, you talk to him — not an intake line.

Background

Jeff Snell started his career at a large New York City firm, handling general liability cases. In 2003 he moved to Atlanta and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. He began practicing Georgia workers’ compensation, which has been at the center of his work ever since.

For ten years, from 2014 to 2024, he was a partner at Bobe & Snell. In 2024 he opened Snell Injury Law in Alpharetta, and today he practices from the firm’s Maxwell Road office.

Roughly half of his practice is workers’ compensation and most of the rest is personal injury, with some mediation work. That split is the point. Most personal injury firms do not handle workers’ comp, and most comp lawyers do not handle injury claims. Jeff Snell does both.

Why the firm is built the way it is

The firm exists around one situation that most lawyers treat as two separate cases: someone hurt in a car crash while driving for work.

When that happens, there is usually a workers’ compensation claim through the employer’s insurer and a separate injury claim against the at-fault driver. The two affect each other. The comp insurer usually has a right to be repaid from the injury recovery. And insurers on both sides will use the other claim as a reason to pay less. Running them together, in the right order, is what this firm does. See work-related car accidents.

That combination is less common than it sounds. A workers’ comp case runs before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation, on its own forms, deadlines and rules about doctors and benefits. An injury case runs against a liability insurer and, if it does not settle, in court. When one lawyer understands both, the comp benefits, repayment rights and injury claim can be planned together from the first week. Otherwise, one side often finds out about the other at the end.

How he works

You work with Jeff Snell directly. Not a case manager, not a rotating team.

A case generally moves like this:

  1. A free consultation, by phone or video. He will tell you honestly whether you have one claim, two, or none worth bringing.
  2. Signing up. There are no upfront fees.
  3. Treatment. Getting the right care documented — including helping clients who have not yet seen a doctor get in.
  4. The insurers. All communication with insurance companies goes through the firm.
  5. Records and bills. When treatment is finished, every medical record and bill is collected.
  6. The demand. A settlement demand that sets out the crash and who was at fault. It tells the full medical story in order, from the emergency room through imaging and treatment, and lists every cost.
  7. Negotiation, and if the case does not settle, a lawsuit and usually mediation.
  8. Workers’ comp in parallel, where it applies, sequenced so neither claim undercuts the other.

Most firms do not publish what happens between signing and settlement. It is the part clients most want to understand.

What he does not take

Being clear about this saves everyone time:

  • Federal workers’ compensation. Federal employees are covered by a separate federal system, which this firm does not handle.
  • People who already have a lawyer on the same claim.

If you are not sure whether you have one claim, two or none, that is a normal place to start. The first conversation is meant to answer exactly that question.

An awesome lawyer!!!!!! Mr. Snell was very professional and informative. He helped me to understand all aspects of my case. I personally felt as if he ws giving me the same service he would give his family member, if they were in a similar situation. I would definitely use him again and or recommend his services to friend or family. Good old fashioned customer service. Thanks Mr Snell for all you have done.

Not your average lawyer. Jeff was exceptional at explaining my case to me and he kept me informed every step of the way. He offered counsel so I could make informed decisions and he actually cared about me, not just my case. I would recommend him to anyone who is in need of a personal injury lawyer.
